Hickory Ridge Antique Tractor Club at a Glance

A Bit of Background

The Hickory Ridge Antique Tractor Club was formed in 1981 by Horace and Norma Potter. Horace and Norma held a tractor show at their home for 20 years before retiring. They were avid collectors and generous people. They ensured families had a splendid time while viewing these antique power houses. Families and friends came from all over the eastern shore to spend three days at their events. Russell P. Geyer III attended the 1995 show where he participated in a tractor pull with his Massey Harris 44 tractor. When he was shut down for tires reaching off the ground, Horace ran out arguing the call made. This sparked a fire in Mr. Geyer. Years later Mr. Geyer who has a collection of over 15 tractors was in contact with Ronnie Robbins who said sadly Mr. & Mrs. Potter had passed and their home was up for sale. Mr. Geyer and his family purchased the home and the show grounds in October 2018 and vowed to the family that the show would be held there again. As a new club there were 6 members in attendance at the first meeting and added a youth club. The youth club was established so that children could learn about the farming industry, make new friends, and learn responsibility.  We hope those numbers grow with every passing year. We look forward to seeing you at shows around the State of Delaware and keep an eye out for the annual show!
